We all have a breathing comfort zone, meaning we have a comfortable range for inhalation and exhalation. This range has evolved based on our habits and the way we sit, stand, and move. There is more!
More breath capacity, more control, more ease!
In this video join me to blow up your breathing comfort zone. Get the ribs moving more which mobilizes joints, soft tissue, and overall flexibility. Gently expand your range of motion during inhalation and exhalation.
Inhale through the nose - feeling the ribs move, your chest will feel like it inflates like an inner tube
Exhale through your mouth - exhale past where you think you can - feeling the ribs come down and in.
Pause for a count of 4
Repeat
Special thanks to the brilliant Michael Mullen of Integrative Rehab Training for this pattern. I met him at the PAMA Symposium in 2017. Michael has a keen eye for seeing movement patterns and opening connections that enhances coordination.
