This is my 100th post, how fitting the topic is MOVEMENT!!!!!
When I began to study Body Mapping I had NO idea what was ahead. My learning began by learning the bones and joints of the skeleton. Fast forward to 2020, and I can see clearly (pun intended) how much movement matters to our art and our life.
As you read this, notice all of the movements you are using to read. Not sure about this, close your eyes, see if the movement becomes clearer.
Your eyes are moving and you are breathing. As I type, my fingers are dancing on the keys with support from my arms in addition to breathing and moving eyes.
A fantastic way to tune into movement is to close your eyes. Without vision, the subtle movements of just being come to light.
If you haven’t tuned into movement, I recommend closing your eyes periodically as a way to notice movement. You can notice:
where it is located
how much
the quality - ease or effort
how much movement fills your body at every moment
Take this same expiration into your playing or craft to notice what movements are happening and how they are happening. Do you need them? Or are they extraneous?
