I have had a lot of people commenting about how much their neck is hurting. Two quick things, then a way to respond.
What you refer to as your ‘neck’ is actually the top of your spine. The 7 vertebrae that are the upper spine, span the distance from the top of your shoulder to the base of your skull, right below your earlobe. Note this is much higher than the bottom of your chin.
Map this region as part of a larger ensemble of bones and joints, 24 vertebrae, 23 discs and the sacrum to be exact. Allow the upper spine to move in harmony with the rest. (music puns!)
Here is a gentle release you can do at virtually any moment where you have a floor nearby…
Once you have taken a few moments to do this release, notice how your sound is, or how you feel as you return to your activity.
